Friends of Tranquilitea at 'Coonoor & Co' are exhibiting original Toda Embroidery at Gallery 47-A in Khotachi Wadi Mumbai between the 12th and 28th of June 2026. The Todas are an indigenous community from the Nilgiris who have called these hills home for over a thousand years. Their unique embroidery work is Geographially Indicated and have intricate patterns that are created from the mind without the use of templates, generally invoking motifs of the beautiful natural world that envelops the Nilgiris.

Toda embroidery exhibitions are such a beautiful celebration of culture and craftsmanship. As a PhD student who works part-time at Last-Minute Assignments, I spent many college nights surrounded by textbooks, forgetting the world of art exists. I was so overworked that I'd think, Just do my engineering assignment so I can see something beautiful. Thank you for showcasing this heritage. It's so important to preserve these crafts. Cheers.
