Location

All our properties are situated within quiet residential areas and we do not allow playing of loud music through mobile phones, portable speakers etc to avoid any disturbance to our neighbours or to wild life around the area.

Check In and Check Out Time

Our standard check in time is 03:00 p.m and our check out time is 11:00 a.m. Every effort will be made to accommodate requests for an early check in or late check out depending on room availability.

 

Meals

Breakfast is served at 9:00 a.m and dinner is served at 08:00 p.m on a set menu basis at the 'Tenerife Hill plantation farm stay' as well as at the 'Bungalow in Ooty'. We serve both vegetarian and non vegetarian meals at our properties. We do not serve lunch at any of our properties. This is due to the fact that our properties are all managed by small teams and this break enables them to keep the premises clean and tidy. All the ingredients used to make your meals are sourced locally with an emphasis on organic produce either grown by us or by local farmers in the Nilgiris to the greatest extent possible.

The Environment

All our boutique holiday options are consciously set within pre-existing buildings in order to avoid any additional strain on the environment caused by construction. All alterations wherever required were done using material found locally within the region. A vast majority of our furniture are also restored pieces in order to maintain a low ecological impact.

Our Team

We do not hire professional staff at any our properties. All our staff are from within the town where the property is located with an emphasis on hiring women wherever possible in order to give them an opportunity to further their well being as well as that of their families.

Housekeeping

We encourage our guests to maintain their rooms as they would in their own house. Our staff will however be happy to clean your rooms in the mornings on request if required.

Room Service

We do not offer room service facilities at any of our properties and we request our guests to refrain from eating in the bedrooms. Each of our properties have a dedicated dining area and all our meals are served at the dining table.

Television

At Tranquilitea we are not fond of the television and believe that it takes away from a true holiday experience. While we provide a basic television set at the Bungalow in Ooty as well as The Club House we do hope you are not travelling all the way to the Nilgiris just to watch TV.
