Boutique Hotels in Coonoor and Ooty

Our Properties

Tranquilitea offers a range of boutique homestays, guest houses and vacation rentals in the towns of Coonoor and Ooty in the Nilgiris. Each of our properties are fully laid out in teak and rosewood furniture and are all self contained units with a dining room, living room and a garden to ensure a luxurious stay.

Our Food

We serve sumptuous home cooked meals at our properties. The Nilgiris is known for its mix of diverse communities and we focus on giving our guests an experience of local cuisines of the region. We are perhaps one of the few properties that offer traditional cuisine of the Badagas, a prominent community of the region. Our meals are served on a set menu basis

Our Activities

We offer a range of bespoke activities, many of which you wont find in any guide book. From walks through plantations, forests and villages of the Nilgiri Hills to our gourmet tea tasting experience held at our tea room within our estate in Coonoor, our list of activities are carefully curated to help you capture the essence of the Nilgiri Hills. We also offer golfers and tennis players access to the local club in Coonoor to enjoy their favourite sport.

  • Tenerife Hill was mentioned as the benchmark for farm stays in the region by Outlook Traveller.

  • Tranquilitea’s Tenerife has two rooms with independent entrances in the thoroughly pretty bungalow - the living room uses glass to great effect and overlooks beautiful views on two sides.    -Lalitha Sridhar, Outlook Traveller.

  • Bungalow in Ooty was chosen as the best home style accommodation in the region by Outlook Traveller.

  • Subtlety is the word to describe the heritage house in Ooty. It has three bedrooms each with a fireplace, a drawing room and a living room. Wooden doors and long windows, a raincoat stand in the living room complete with grandfathers umbrella, the chandeliers, plain walls retain an old world charm. -K. Jeshi in the Hindu Metroplus

  • When Tea is worth an air ticket - Seven best places in the world for tea - Conde Nast Traveller

  • If you are ever in this neck of the woods, this (Tranquilitea) is highly recommended, come here stay with these wonderful people and enjoy lots of tea. Thanks to the Subramani family at Tranquilitea we have learnt all about Badage cuisine and the fine appreciation of the art of tea loving.-Mayur and Rocky on NDTV
